All of Me (in G)
|
Notice that the first 2 chords G --> B7 can be done with the same shape, just shift the G shape up one string (from strings 123 to 234). How clever is THAT?
Similarly, in the third line, going from B7 --> Em, the diagonal shape shifts from strings 234 to 123. The last two lines: C6 - "You" is on the open A string (look ma no fingers!) Bm7 - "once" is barred second fret, and the melody note is on string 2. We should play this twice, from top to bottom. |
2021 Farmer's Market at the Jenks Center in WInchester, 11am-2pm

0) some stuff added https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z3LtTfQVc8 with the fun parts at:
01:16 if my words could glow 02:52 reach out your hand 03:30 there is a road 05:06 la la la la la 1) you need one device to play the song into your headphone / earbuds (not into the room), let's use the song already in the link. If you have a tablet or computer this can work. This is the video of the "backing track" https://youtu.be/e-lIZ7TqNJE I will add your tracks as they are sent in (how to send? see below). If you want just the audio track I have attached it at left (note there is NO VIDEO on the attached file). Side note: I used a metronome setting of 100 if you wanted to 2) you need a second device to record the video and sound (not the original recording, which is in your headphones) *** hold the camera horizontally (landscape) NOT straight up (portrait). *** if you insist on recording portrait it's saying "leave me out please" *** Put the camera level with your eyes or above so you are looking UP or across, any direction except down. 3) during the introductory instrumental sing along ( just da da da ) and COUNT IN (four three two one) so I know where to align your recording with the others. I can remove that stuff afterwards. 4) tell me which part of the song you are going to solo and I'll bring it forward -- each person in this clip takes a turn -- If you don't want to solo, I can add you to the "ripple in still water" (everybody together) and at the end when we all go to "la la la" (see parts marked EVERYBODY below) 5) once you have a recording you like, send it to me using transfer.pcloud.com and I'll assemble it with my video editor. Let's aim for end of September for "drop dead" target date. I'll add parts as they come in and share the parts as they are added. |

It's still snowing Friday afternoon, not warming, and the frost and snow is expected to stick to the grass all day Sat. Look to next year!
The last Winchester Farmers Market https://www.winchesterfarmersmarket.org/ of the season is October 31st, at the parking lot between Town Hall and the Jenks Center. We are playing 10am to noon, but don't feel obligated to stay the entire time if you have other commitments: come by and play what you want. If you have an amp let me know ahead of time so I can help you get set up before 10am. |

May 2, 2020. Experimenting with videos played separately to a baseline; combined after to make a performance.
|
How to participate:
1) play one of the videos (write down which one) with headphones on. 2) record your voice/ instrument on a separate phone/tablet/ camera 3) send it to me and I'll try to edit them together - the more contributors the better. [transfernow or wetransfer can send larger video files from your phone or tablet] NOTE: a) shoot in landscape (wider than taller) b) keep camera at or near eye level (don't look up or down at it) c) center yourself in the picture |

VIRTUAL SONG AROUND THE WOLD GUIDELINES: During Clarence's performance of "Stand By Me," he will leave a verse and chorus open for you to sing, rap, play your instrument and/or dance. Please film yourself performing (using the best video/audio possible) and email it to us at [email protected] by Saturday, April 4th at 11:59pm PT for your chance to be in a special video. A few notes: - Film yourself horizontally (landscape) - Make sure you're in a well-lit room - We suggest using a separate device such as a computer/iPad with headphones to listen to Clarence and using your phone to record yourself so that we only hear your audio - Submit your final video to [email protected] with the subject line "SBM - Virtual Song Around The World" and include your name and location in the body of the email - Remember, the better the quality you send us, the more likely we can use it - HAVE FUN!!! |

December 21, Wednesday 6pm we will sing happy 102nd birthday to Stella.
|
If you don't already have the location send me an email at [email protected] - we have sung happy birthday since she was a young 99. The PDF to the left shows you how to play Happy Birthday in many keys. There are three chords, and depending on the range of your singers, you should adapt and play along. If you can remember the C-G7-F and G-D7-C combinations, you should be all set for almost any audience and celebration.
